Author T.R. Reid discusses health care in Massachusetts, where 98 percent of residents are covered but costs remain high. He believes the issue may benefit from a new leader aside from President Obama, as public support for health care reform has been steadily dropping.

You disgrace me with your hypocritical attitude, You commented Why should you have to contribute out of your pocket to your fellow sick Americans? Well answer me this, why should I have to subsidize your sorry ass for Public Schools, Fire Protection, Police, and that damn war in Iraq!

You are a sorry ass that does not see the full picture about Universal Healthcare, yet you think its perfectly acceptable my tax dollars should save your ass if you were in a burning building!

  • @lacomtessealice I'm an American and makes it me sad to see my fellow Americans so callous toward the sick and dying. America does a lot of good things... this is a disgrace that much like the mistakes of our past will one day be regarded as unthinkable.

  • I am French-American and I am flabbergast to see how many Americans still support the current U.S. healthcare system ? If this happened in France, people would be out on the street decades ago to run down all those "interested parties" ! This is NOT a political issue ! This is a fundamental issue, a human's Right issue! A moral issue! Oh, I forgot, there is no such "moral thing" in our society anymore... It is all about profit.

  • If the American haven't bought the message Obama was trying to sell, then maybe it's because the message stinks. Why should one man HAVE to pay for another's health care? Where's the morality in that?

  • Moral Leverage? Um, Constitutionality. Plain and simple. I don't think Big G can preach to me about ANY SORT OF MORALS.

  • State by state might work, but might take too long.

Why not just put everyone into the same Program we Veterans have?

To provide my own health, I take 2 gm of vitamin C hourly,

    8 hours a day.

As in half the world, like India, I also drink all my own perfect medicine, my urine.

It is probably going to take socialism to provide free health care for all. Like they have in Cuba & China.

If you want public education & public health care, then demand socialism.
