More than 65 million acres of the Chihuahuan, Mojave, and Sonoran Deserts in the Southwest are public land; 85% of these public lands are leased to ranchers for livestock grazing at a loss to taxpayers of $150 million per year. The vast majority of public is unaware that the current physical appearance and ecological health of our grazed deserts is not natural; 
the effects of livestock grazing on deserts is catastrophic. This video considers the choice we now face: stop grazing to protect the desert ecosystem or continue grazing and destroy it.
