This is a video of me beating Bonetail, thus completing the Pit of 100 Trials, while in Chapter 1. The sound is not synced well, I apologize for that. The video is also sped up because a most of the fight is fairly mundane and the video was too long for me to host a regular speed.

Beating the Pit of 100 Trials in Chapter 1 was a very difficult challenge that I put myself up to. It required much patience to level up and develop strategies to defeat enemies in the later floors. It took persistence to collect decent badges as well as a large quantity of some. I was very lucky to obtain many of them. It also took a tremendous amount of luck to make it to the 100th floor and defeat Bonetail. Last time I attempted this I did succeed, however it took longer because my party was wiped out much quicker then when I fought him this time. The badges that played a major role in this particular battle were Power Rush P, Last Stand P, Mega Rush P, Close Call P, the "Lucky" badges, Happy Heart and Flower, and Fire Drive. The other badges served their purposes during various points during the Pit of 100 Trials. Many of the others were also just safety nets.

  • Do badges like Close Call and Pretty Lucky really layer (meaning, does having more than one of each actually make you more evasive)?

  • @chaowalker Honestly, I didn't know when I made this video and I don't know now. I do know that when I made this video I wanted to have as many safeguards as possible. Which is why I got as many badges points as I needed to pretty much equip every badge I had. As you can see in the video, I wasn't often at a point where Close Call would have even come into effect, yet I had all of them equipped.

  • Someone tell me why he left 1 BP open.

  • @thekevo235 The only other ones I could have used were FP Drain, Simplifier, and Unsimplifier none of which I wanted to use.

  • 3:58 whered the rock come from (is it the moon? haha), Why do you have so many dried shrooms, Howed you get all those stuff (like the badges) and Why at the end of the battle you got ONE star point?

  • @Stormybue The rock was just sort of a random happening like there is in some boss battles. The dried shrooms were a safeguard in case any of my partners died, I could use the dried shroom to bring them to 1 health which would allow the Danger Partner effect to take place which was essential to get me through some of the later floors and do a lot of damage in this boss fight.

  • @everybodyeditsuser The lucky day badge is from floor 90...

  • You get some serious props, man. This is one of the most impressive Paper Mario stunts I've ever seen. How soul-crushing was it to grind up to Level 44? Where did you grind? Was it worse than hunting all those badges?

  • So THAT'S where Bonetail is.

I heard about him in the mythology read by the rooftop thief, but I didn't know if he was actually in the game.
