We have played it also and it's the meaning that the first part don't start togheter. You start always a half tell later with the same melody in a different pupiter.

I finally convinced my Band Director to let us play this song last school year. My old band director dressed up in a wig and and one of the trumpet players threw a rubber chicken into the stands when the clarinets played high G the second time. Right as the percussionists hit the snare the chicken fell into the audience because the conductor shot it, shot it dead with his baton

Omfg.. clarinets, if u can't hit that high G for the love of all that is good and holy don't play it!

This was so much fun to do! That was a while ago though
the sections werent very together and the first movement when it goes clarinet, oboe 1, then oboe 2, wasnt together at all.

My Band is playing this piece at our next concert. I wanted to hear what it sounded like without the whole band laughing.
