@piewagn ya I bought a 31 chevy 1.5 ton dually. I was gunna restore it but didn't know what I was getting into. So we made it into a rat rod instead. That was a hell of a challenge! I still have some brake work to do on it. Then gunna ad a vega steering box..then wire it. kinda like doin it. So then I bought a 27 international truck. Gunna turn it into a shootoff of a 20"s paddy wagon using a pinto driveline and wiring, with a vega steering box.

Yes, babbit bearings....

@piewagn ...Is that a holley 2 barrel on it or something???? If it is a higher performance carb...I am wondering how long that type of motor will hold up to the increased horsepower. Seems to me more horsepower would make the motor bang down on those type of bearings thus wearing them out quicker. And I hear they are a bitch to redo.

That is a Weber 2 stage 2bbl. As long as you've got the timing right ( no detonation ), don't "lug" the engine and don't go out and beat the crap out of it all the time, they're fine. Running them too hard and abuse will "shake" a rod loose. Mine keeps up with traffic fine, I don't abuse it. With the Borg Warner overdrive, on an open flat portion of highway, I did have her up to 75mph ( gps ). Build one and enjoy it!!!!
