"Petrushka's Journey" is a documentary filmed by Loïc Deltour and Eric Oberdorff. It tells the life's path and the hopes of a young man, Ibrahim, through his own and his friends's interviews and following his daily routine between his waiter's job and dance lessons & rehearsals with the Azamiah Dance Company.
Arrived in France in his childhood, having grown up in an extremely difficult social context, he discovered dance at teenage years. While performing poorly at school, it is a revelation for him. Despite the obstacles (age, social environment, family, etc. ...), his predisposition, his talent and hard work helped him to make fast and great progress and allow him today to dream to become a professional dancer.
"Petrushka's Journey" has won the 2008 call for projects of "Identity, Path & Memory". It has also been labelled "Project 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue"
