Follow a patient's journey as she considers and then proceeds with deep brain stimulation surgery for the treatment of Parkinson Disease symptoms. Surgery is performed at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL in 2009. Discussion of DBS as a viable treatment for some patients in the earlier stages of PD. This is an educational video produced by Neuro Challenge Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) supporting excellence in Parkinson Disease and movement disorder care, outreach and research.

  • i just had this done on the 6th of april 2010 for essential tremors. the halo part was the only hassle. it has to be exacting and then the shots which they forgot to tell me about. f.... me did that part hurt. but once that was over everything went like clockwork. i was awake during the procedure and spoke with everyone like we were old friends. the second part for the stimulator comes on the 16th.
