Demonstration Bus Exclusive! : New Flyer XDE40 "Xcelsior" Demonstration Bus 0058 On The B6

It's that time of the year again, test bus galore! Not the best clip but its something!

This is a New Flyer XDE40 "Xcelsior" demo that has been running on the B6 for some time. It is a Diesel-Electric Hybrid with a Cummins ISL mated with I believe the GM-Allison Hybrid EP-40 System Hybrid-drive. This is one of 3 test buses that were supposed to be tested. The other two which are 0056 and 0057 are unknown at the moment, it was pretty odd to see 0058 come out first.

This bus could be seeing service out of an MTA Bus garage very soon. Hopefully by then, I'll get me some better clips so stay tuned!

Its about time, but didn't the MTA and New Flyer Industries have disagreements before or something like that?

@csouth28 - I suppose all that is cleared up, we are currently awaiting about 135 or so C40LFRs.

They call it EV40 on the spec sheets for some reason
