Christopher Hitchens defended his endorsement of Obama on The O'Reilly Factor on Friday. Subbing in for O'Reilly was Laura Ingraham, and the exchange (who would have thought!) got a bit heated at times. Ingraham was rather incredulous as to how Hitchens could support Obama. Hitchens responded that everything Obama has said since his first debate with Hillary Clinton "has been getting better." Hitchens also, reluctantly, uttered rather harsh criticism of McCain: "McCain is, in my judgment, I hate to have to say it of such a person, is losing height, losing capacity, he's just not quite the man he was. One proof of that, you might add, is his choice of running mate and potential vice president."

  • Whatever happened to just letting people say their piece without constantly interrupting them? It amazes me how Hitchens can sit there and be good-natured about it. I would just tell the bitch to STFU and let me finish. It annoys me, because it's not just this clip. It's everywhere in political debate these days, and really everywhere in life. Nobody has any goddamn common courtesy anymore. It's just a bunch of brainless chickens seeing who can fucking squawk the loudest.

  • I like the coment on Obama being prepared to conduct attacks on terrorists in Pakistan. All the more poignant now.

  • "I thought you would never ask, you must have me on more often to tell me what you think" hahahaha RIP Christopher

  • This woman is such a cunt

she needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP and let him talk

...but then again, its pretty typical of Fox News to be like this to guests

  • She thought it was just bravado????

    oooops!

  • trannie bitch with the voice of a whore

  • @duckdown1993 That is simply untrue, but like all religious zealots that Hitchens himself couldn't stand, you are entrenched in your religious belief and no one is going to change that. The last line of your statement is absurd beyond any sane comment i have heard on the subject."Global warming is caused by human activity" It's not so long ago that some of these mad scientists were saying we are heading for a new Ice Age? I could blow your theory out of the water if i had more room.

  • @MassExtinctionEvent

Christopher definitely wasn't opposed to squawking himself. This is actually one of his better moments here.

  • @MottTheWot

I'll admit, it is a bit hard to be tolerant of other's beliefs when virtually every shred of objective evidence available suggests global warming is caused by human activity.

  • @duckdown1993 Faith in oneself is the best and safest course~ Michaelangelo. Not bad for a bloke who painted a ceiling for a war mongering pope! I'll quote Hitchen's now with these additions. The religion of global warming like all religions is violent, irrational, intolerant, (replace racism with alarmism), tribalism, and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry. Imaginary beings? Alarmists! Scientists drawing Government grants or just natural evolution of the earth?

  • @MottTheWot

I respect your religion in a way - much more so than a lot of this nonsense I here normally - but it is still a religion in a way which has its dogmas, defeatism and especially determinism to boot. To think the human race shouldn't try and avoid ecological disaster just because it doesn't correspond with mother natures destiny is a madness in and of itself. Worthy of Glenn Beck types that have no qualms about pushing our world into the abysss...

  • @duckdown1993 This is where we differ, nature will indeed take back what it has done for the past 900 million years.Species come and species go, we will be no different, Humans get it wrong in this insane belief that we will all be here forever, what nonsense, we have been here approx. 30 seconds on a 24 hr time clock. We haven't done anything to this planet that it cannot repair. Like all religions, the global warming cult is for the simple man who fails to think things through.
