  • did you have to do anything special to the pickup to get it to fit in a tele bridge position? i dont think they come with the right screw orientation

  • @TheRealErob

I originally ordered a "Lace Burgundy for Tele" from Lace Music. They simply attached a new base plate to a Strat pickup, so it's a custom ordered pickup but it wasn't modded too much.

  • Can anyone help me im making a tele and bought a lace sensor for the neck, but I havent purchased one for my bridge. I dont really want to get a lace cuz I heard it sounds awesome when you mix them with a normal pickup. I was thinking about a lindy fralin stock 6.6. The only problem is I dont know what hi output means compared to a blues or stock. I will be playing like Radiohead, Deathcab for cutie type stuff with distortion... Someone help me I would GREATLY appreciate it

  • @bearsafetyus

Get a Joe Barden Danny Gatton T-Style bridge pickup. You won't find a better match for the Lace and you won't find a better hum-free Tele p/up... Good luck with your project!

  • hey, im thinking on changing my tele bridge pickup since i feel the sound is too thin. what do you think it will fit the most, de burgundy or the red lace sensor?

  • @Andrukhen How much extra did that cost? I was thinking of building a strat with lace blues but am considering a tele after hearing this.

  • I am making my own guitar and i have purchased a 69 thinline tele body, and have allready purchased a lace 6.5 for the neck, which i think might have been a mistake idano.. but i play a lot of radiohead tele rock stuff and was wondering if you could help me with an idea of what kind of pickup to purchase. I thought about the seymour duncan Antiquity also... IDANO!?

  • @jeffcrapinthehead :)

If you have a standard Tele pickguard, I'd recommend Joe Barden Danny Gatton T-Style for the neck position - that's a fantastic p/up. The guitar you heard in this demo, however, has a strat-style footprint at the neck, so after some experimenting it got t a Lace Emerald, sounds awesome.

  • @Andrukhen Great minds think the same eh! This demo has definitely convinced me to get this for the bridge in my tele. I currently have tapped Seymour Duncan Quarter pounders in there but they're a bit too hot and aggressive. This Lace burgundy is just right. Any suggestions on a neck pickup to match this?

  • @andy92811 In the neck position it sounds slightly differently, reminding more of the P90. If this is what you're after, you'll love this pickup. Yes, definitely hotter than the Gold Sensor, but still not a typical humbucker. Has some single-coil quality with no hum. I personally like it in the bridge.
