when i first heard cejudo was gunna do boxing i was like, wtf why would you spend your life up to this point training one art at an elite level, then go and switch to a completely different art?

Then i was like, this could be good. wat if he goes and gets real good at boxing, then transitions to mma with olympic gold medal wrestling experience, AND pro boxing experience. he would be an mma monster!

this though just occured to me also, how many of his mexican friends told him to do boxing also?

Actually a lot of boxers used to do catch wrestling and greco clinch training int he olden days, Jack Dempsey was a good catch wrestler and devastating puncher.

the workouts they used to do was very similar to what wrestlers did such as neck bridges, jump rope which wrestlers do, and a lot of functional training.

a Wrestler would have an advantage in power and in fighting they would be able to wear down their opponent and use dirty boxing like how shane mosley defeated Margarito.
