Tuppoo94...I stand corrected!!! Finland is definitely a "we" society. I plan on visiting Scandanavia in the very near future. (That includes Holland...Finland...and possibly a few other countries). I wish more of our American youth would visit these beautiful places. I honestly feel that the powers that be in the U.S. are concerned about the commons discovering the truth about social democracy. Thanks Tuppoo94 for calling me out on that omission. Adonai...Baagit8.

@baagit8 Don't forget Finland even though we aren't in Scandinavia actually.

Jeff74FL....the scandanavians are much happier than us Americans. They are the government!!! They agree on Universal Healthcare....Free Education....6-7 weeks vacation...1 year paid pregnancy leave!!! Relax Jeffrey...take a chill pill and release our societal programming!!! Visit Denmark...Norway...Sweden!!! They're beautiful people.

What people don't understand about us, is that we are supposed to be individuals without government interference and be less dependent on our government. And as I understand, the health care (Except Denmark) are going south and are go drastically to hell.
By hard work, be responsible for your self as an individual you will see success.
And as I hear from a good Norwegian friend, you couldn't even stop the surveillance bill even though most people are against it.

I am an American, and I don't recognize my country as you described it.
We have more successful entrepreneurs by our population, we do have the right to have an education, most states has gun control, we do get unemployment money and social security for those who are unable to work AND the police can't enter our house without a warrant and you will go to court if you are arrested under the Patriot Act. The bill it self are stupid though.

The more I read about Scandinavia, the more convinced I am that it just might be the greatest region of the world to live in. Just goes to show you that being the richest countty on Earth doesn't necessarily mean we're the happiest or have the best standard of living.

@hayden50 The tax is payed by the employer to the government without passing the hands of the employee. That makes it dificult to cheat. Untaxed work is common in restaurant and building industry, but I am sure that is common in countries with low taxes too.
Anyone making over a million dollars does not make it mainly from salary, but from financial income. Those taxes are not higher than in other countries.
I heard it was up to 10 years of wait for breast implants and up to 3 years of waiting for simple heart surgery in Norway, which is the case in most countries with the same healthcare system.
I'd rather pay $1800 a year then having these kind of ques.
And by the way, you can't buy a gun without a proper background check. As I see, the crime rate is gone straight up. But the video is old so.
Other than that, no offense towards anyone who believe in a social democracy
