here is a recipe with ammonium nitrate that i am sure will give you good results:
ammonium nitrate: 75%
alluminium powder: 14%
liquid silicon: 9%
motor oil 1%
red iron oxide: 1%
Must be very finely mixed and pressed. Is very insensitive as explosive.

It's a solid fuel. Finely mixed and pressed. Google is your friend...

Very creative work! Ammonium nitrate propellants can have over two and one halve times the specific impulse of gunpowder and they burn clean. You may want to experiment with Bates Grain configurations (multiple propellant cartridges inside insulating tubes: cardboard, PVC, etc.) to increase your burning area. If you don't want to make composite propellants, I think your work with Ammonpulver can give you very good results. Check out Nakka's site for Bates Grain discussions and design.

Thanks for your comment! I see no use for ammonpulver as rocket fuel. A useful fuel must be a composite fuel and I have worked on that i while. I have used polyester resin as binder and aluminium as fuel but it ´s hard to make it burn good. Maybe I will soon use ammonium perchlorate to make a fuel that is more simple to use. Then I don´t have to think about the phase changes that AN have.
