Cheetahs are the fastest land mammal! Capable of reaching speeds in excess of 70mph they are an amazing animal, unfortunately their numbers in the wild have dropped drastically in the past 100 years.

Namibia is one of the last refuges of the remaining world Cheetah population. A quarter of all the remaining cats are found in Nambia. It is estimated their numbers globally have declined by over 90% in the last 100 years. A local thorn bush species is invading the savannah in the country, causing over US$90 million each year in lost revenue to Namibian farmers, whilst also destroying the native habitat of the fastest of the cats. Now the Cheetah Conservation Fund has pioneered a scheme to clear the thorn bush and turn it into cheap fuel briquettes. The project is creating jobs at the same time as helping to restore the hunting ground of the endangered cheetah.

  • What's the intro music called?

  • @impbadminton It's a free jingle that comes with iMovie software, I can't remember the name....?

  • So theyve been rescued only to be trapped in these enclosures. How ironic.I dont know which is worse.Extinction or Torture.Extinction I'd say. There must be protected ranges(1km2 absolute min per cat) or nothing. All or nothing.

  • @rananim3 All or nothing is a surefire way to make sure these cats do go extinct, we need to protect and educate. We rescue our cats from bad CAPTIVE situations, backyards, fur farms, circuses etc... and provide them with the best life possible in captivity :)

  • i like cheetah

  • I wana be a Cheetah.

5 people got damaged by a cheetah.

  • Save the cheetah they are friken amazing

  • @icebear1946 The hyenas stealing the Cheetah's food is not a serious problem, sometimes it happens, then the Cheetah's simply hunt again. Killing other animals will result into nothing but a blow to the local ecosystem of the Cheetah. The best way to help the Cheetah, like I said in this video, is to stop the invasive and unwanted plants.

  • @maryumabdullah 10,000,000?!?! We all wish there were than many. It's 10,000. Big difference, my friend... (:

  • bless you BCR, i really fear that in my life i will witness so many amazing cats become extinct, Its a damn tragedy,. My egyptian mau reminds me of cheetahs

  • One major problem cheetahs appear to have is hyenas taking their food, that happens two or three times in a row and a cheetah could starve. Has anybody considered shooting more hyenas as a part of the solution? I mean one or two guys with a jeep and a fal rifle could make a sizable dent in hyena populations...

  • funy, when i was in namibia and south afrika, all the people complained about the masses of cheetahs roaming on their land....they said seeing a cheetah in namibia is like seeing an elk in sweden...
