This is the first model train review to come in 2012 and this video covers the fourth Murphy Models GM Class 201 that I own and this one is numbered as 222 "River Dargle" in the Intercity two-tone green and silver livery which I have to admit does look nice on this model and the prototype. The model comes fully loaded with detail such as NEM couplers, sprung buffers, directional lights and is DCC ready. The model is DCC sound compliant and DCC users will be delighted to know that the model has a 4ohm (not 100ohm as originally thought) speaker installed and there is cab lights on the model as well which is why a six function DCC decoder is required for all functions on this model. The model is VERY powerful and has all-wheel drive as well as pickups on all wheels for maximum electrical pickup which is essential for DCC operation. The model is well worth every penny as the model is premium quality and I shall look forward to getting more variants in the future.

Overall Rating: 10/10

  • @IrishModelRail: 203 is in Orange/Black with the yellow stripe on the front and 210 is also in Orange/Black but with the yellow panel at the front similar to 201 "River Shannon", so I will be getting those ones in due course. No worries about the metric joke mate and I am sorry if I appeared serious. I still use mostly imperial for speed and weight because thats what I learned in school although metric was taught in my final years before I left school in 1996.

  • @EWS60008

Are they in orange and black livery do you know?

About the metric joke, I was only messing. It's a pity Ireland went metric though...

  • @IrishModelRail: I thought I would cover both as some of my Japanese subscribers might watch the video mate.

  • @IrishModelRail: Thanks for the heads up mate. I shall be getting that one at the end of the month. 203 and 210 are due soon according the Rails of Sheffield website. So thats three more goodies for my fleet.

  • @EWS60008

    12:32, I don't do metric.

  • @EWS60008

220 River Blackwater has now been released.

  • @aocruiser: Thanks mate, I am pleased that everything is working again as well. I have a backlog of videos that need to be uploaded which includes a couple of new model trains that I just recently bought.

  • Very nice model! I'm glad to hear the sound working again!

  • @dancemusic0: Glad to hear its all working again, I still have a backlog of videos I need to upload as the bug in the video editor is holding things up. Also I have some footage from tomorrow to come as well, so the list is getting longer. But hopefully things should start to get back to normal.

  • Yay your sounds working again :)
