B&O Trailer Jet

Here's an O Gauge version of a Baltimore and Ohio Trailer Jet.

The train is led by Lionel B&O GP30. This locomotive features Lionel Railsounds, TMCC, Odyssey speed control, ElectroCouplers, and a fan driven smoke unit which wasn't used in this video.

The train is made up of piggyback cars made by MTH Electric Trains and the caboose is also by MTH.

The track is K-Line tubular with O-96 curves and it's being controlled with Lionel Legacy.

The Trailer Jets first appeared on the B&O in 1960. They carried piggyback traffic across the B&O on fast schedules. Some of the Trailer Jets included the New York Trailer Jet, Chicago Trailer Jet, St. Louis Trailer Jet, Manhattan Trailer Jet and Cincinnati Trailer Jet.

The Trailer Jets used the latest diesel locomotives owned by the B&O. They often used three locomotives running elephant style, or simply nose to tail. The B&O was short on power today, so they borrowed a Reading GP35 for the run west.
