for steve, it is one step beyond - he more obviously incorporates instruments from orient, laos, indonesia, tibet and china, and combines them in moments of emotion with classical occidental instruments

baly passed away june 18th 2005 - it is as an homage to his souvenir and to fulfill his dream and his commitment that steve shehan decided to produce this new album, a tribute to this great poet of the desert

the movie is a 52-minutes documentary retracing his quest for identity, achieved through and thanks to music

written by talia mouracadé, narrated by tcheky karyo and realized by thibaut castan, this movie gives the opportunity to steve shehan to state his non-belonging to a unique reference
shot in the sahara, in paris and in new york, containing numerous archive materials, this documentary includes about twenty testimonies of individuals who met and influenced steve shehan's life one way or another

A friend lent me this DVD. I love Steve Shehan's work most in Hadouk, but I'm not a great 'watcher' of music.

However, this film takes you deep into a musical journey, an expression of how a man can give his life to music, in its free-est form. I had NO IDEA!

The promise he makes will stay with me forever.

A special film, totally recommended.
