It has also been reprinted as part of the DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore-trade paperback The story would affect the mainstream Batman continuity in that it features the shooting and crippling of Barbara Gordon by the Joker, an event which would lead her to adopt the role and identity of Oracle, a vital source of information for Batman and other super-heroes." "Although The Killing Joke was a one-shot, it had an extraordinary impact on the DC Universe. Most significant was Barbara Gordon's paralysis, which ended her career as Batgirl and eventually led to her role as Oracle in the Birds of Prey series and other DC Universe appearances. (Birds of Prey was also adapted into a TV series of the same title which incorporated Killing Joke elements into its continuity.) hey thanks for the comment. We're working on a motion comic adaptation on the red hood origin story but due to our low budget we can't film that part. but everything else in the comic is adapted in live action.

if you recall during the original story

Moore and Bolland somewhat suggest that The Red Hood origin might be all in his mind as when he says about his origin "Sometimes I remember it one way sometimes another, If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice"

Something bleached his skin and disfigured him, as to just what though?!?
