Turbine connects to worm gear connected to takeoff pulley...not enough power to run anything heavy as an accessory, but demonstrates the principals of harnassing the power of a steam turbine to do work.

  • How fast is the turbine blades spinning?

  • Sorry, no idea how fast, but they are a blur. On another Karsten engine it is claimed the turbine blade spins at 20,000 rpms without any load, so this one is probably half that...but really just guessing.

  • very good tehnc :D!

  • Pretty cool. I wonder how much more efficiency and production it would be with some kind of high temperature insulative material covering the top sphere of the boiler and the tubing?
