First up: Part 1 of the blind auditions, in which the singers are hidden from view and are judged solely on their voice. Coaches include Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. From the producers of "Big Brother" and "Survivor."

Blake Shelton joins Grammy Award winners Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine (Maroon 5) as the coaches who will help shape America's next top singing star. Carson Daly hosts the series, which premieres April 26th.

What is "the voice"?

NBC has teamed up with hit-making reality show pioneers John de Mol, Mark Burnett and Warner Horizon Television to bring Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show "The Voice of Holland" to America.

The Blind Auditions

During the blind auditions the decisions from the coaches are based solely on voice and not on looks. The coaches hear the contestants perform but don't get to see them thanks to rotating chairs.

If a coach is impressed by the contestant's voice, he/she pushes a button to select the contestant for his/her team. If more than one coach selects the talent, the power shifts to the contestant, who may choose which coach he/she wants to work with throughout the competition.
