I was fishing on the Skykomish when the guys 15 yards down from me hooked and landed a hatchery steelhead. They were using a dink float and a pink jig. The fish leaps into the air about four times before they land it. After they landed the fish they showed me the jig and it was bent out of shape from the fight. The cabin we rented on the river is in the backround. The sound is bad because my camera was in a watertight case.

  • Can't say for sure that they are poachers. That area was legal to fish and I can't tell if that's actually a native fish. I probably should have paid closer attention at the time. I figured people wouldn't be happily retaining native fish right next to me and letting me take (and post) a video, but I guess you never know.

  • Crap, I hope that's not an adipose. I can't really tell if it's an intact fin or a big healed-over nub. I never really got a good look at the time.

  • Couple bends downriver from Reiter.
