Ah, yeah...
I mostly post this as an idea to DoobieMcDonald-- http://www.youtube.com/user/DoobieMcDonald -- for his Whittier, CA "Kazoobie Day" or what-ya-ma-call-it-- http://www.tinyurl.com/whittierkazoo This could probably be a nifty kazoo song.
Ask Doobie-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5hm8RqYzeU --about it.
As far as this song, I was surprised that it's mostly known as a really fast and jumpy "Charleston" era type song. I wanted to slow it down more like my dad sang it on family road-trips, but my guitar playing gets EVEN worse when I go slower.
Here's a nice version with a long intro verse rarely heard-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftwTJW8ViAI -- and here's the likewise Charleston version of http://www.youtube.com/user/burrexkeefers youtuber right here as only an instrumental-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeM84ZM9TJc

  • That's why it's always mess up and call it "8 Foot Two". Allan Sherman is seared into my brain. LOL

Fail? Better than I could do. I hear your dad's Jolson in there, but I like you're almost caricatured version on a Dylan voice in there too.

  • Yeah I wanted to slow it down more, but my playing gets even more iffy the slower I go.

Kinda hard to slow it down when all the youtube examples on old records are really fast Charleston beats, which was what it was meant to be.

The Beatles covered My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean real early on, and that was one of dad's tunes too, plum wore that one out on long car trips.

  • Last night I met a man from Mars and he was very sad. He said won't you help me find my girlfriend please? So I asked him what does she look like, and the man from Mars said she's...8 foot two, solid blue, five transistors in each shoe. Has anybody seen my gal?! Lucite nose, rustproof toes and when her antenna glows she's the cutest Martian gal. Lovely shape, custom built, squeeze her wrong and she says "tilt". So send me back my cutie, my supersonic beauty. Send me back my Martian gal!

  • Oh, okay!

You're quoting the Allan Sherman version, lol.

For a second there I thought you were spacing-out, ha-ha!

  • Hahaha, love it!

  • Thanks foxy momma.

I should probably stick to the lampshade like my last video, though.

  • Oh how I miss all the bliss of her sweet hydraulic kiss! Has anybody seen my gal?!

  • You know she promised me recently she wouldn't stray. Then came the dawn she was gone...18 billion miles away!

  • No, no, no, I like this much better! Very cool.

  • thanks!
