@tommiexander i agree that music of yesteryear generally surpasses modern equivalents, however there are some great musicians out there too and it's overtly negative to put it in such simplistic terms as past = good, present = bad.
having said that pretty much everyting i listen to is from at least 30 years ago - and the modern guys i like are replicating that... but yeah, check out Henry Butler on the piano (do a search) and then tell me there isnt any class out there now ;)

I think that you don't grasp what I meant. Music these days have been basically reduced to rap or hip hop that uses synthesizers instead of live bands. Our genre of music and entertainment covered the whole gamit that included jazz, blues, soul, funk, R&B, live bands, tap dancing, pop, and more, which was what real music and entertainment was all about. You couldn't have made it in the music industry in those days if you were just mediocre or didn't have real talent....

@tommiexander i kinda hear you, but that's an overtly pessimistic view. we dont watch clips from 30 years ago that arent anything but the absolute best of their time. there was a shitload of mediocrity back then too, it's just that, naturally, we dont choose to watch it.
having said that, yeah modern life is rubbish ;)
