See the finished painting over here: http://yoruko.deviantart.com/art/HYDRALISK-2-0-264102253

• Tools: Photoshop CS3, Wacom drawing tablet
• Music: Solar Fields - Times Are Good (Sometimes Remix)
• Starcraft belongs to Blizzard Entertainment
• No profit is made with this video

Remember that old hydralisk video I uploaded some time in 2009? I wanted to try my hand at another hydralisk painting and see how much better I could do now. I think the difference is quite noticeable? ;) The design of the hydra seen here is based off a sketch page found in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty collector's edition art book. It's a bit different than in the finished game.

  • wow!!!! How do you get so good at your line work. I always figured my line work sucked cause i dont have a cintiq and im used to drawing with my wrist and fingers, but your description says you have a tablet.. amazing skills!!

  • @jesman1985 For your first question, I think every artist would give you the same answer; years upon years of practice and still going. ;)

Tablet models are usually irrelevant to the actual finished product you can make with them. The version you choose to use should only reflect what you're most comfortable working with. I like to look at my screen instead of the tablet itself. It might take a little while to get used to looking elsewhere than the actual pen you're drawing with though. :)

  • How long do you think this took you to do? o:

  • @Yashendwirh The actual painting process took about six hours or so. :)

  • Watch a reveiw of my hydra drawing. Its no where near as good this drawing but its pretty good for a 14 year old

  • @Yoruko88 your right.. Ive been drawing my whole life, but ive only used a tablet for about half a year now. I feel more comfortable drawing with pen and paper than with a tablet. So your right.. practice. That or wait for wacom to drop those cintiq prices..lolol :) Thank you for your response. :)

  • Haven't seen your stuff in ages, just glad i'm still subscribed, I always enjoy a good speed painting XD

  • @Yashendwirh looks like it took him about 8:20 XD
