Tre Stelle di Lapislazzuli, the exquisite installation from artist Dale Chihuly, graces the front atrium of Stanford's newest jewel, the Lorry I. Lokey Stem Cell Research Building. Dr. Irv Weissman, director of the Stanford Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, explains the work's genesis and how it came to reside at America's newest and largest stem cell research center.
