I see hopeurforfreedom is making a lot of stupid statements over here also. Hey dude! You don't give up! NHTSA announced, Volt is safe, no recall! The Insurance Institute For Highway Safety gave the Volt it's highest rating, after the crash test fires! I have driven 2,500 miles and have used 7.5 gals. of gas. Total charging costs, $65. My Dec. electric bill was $61 (for everything). My Volt paid my Dec. bill and put another $120 in my pocket! You're losing ground dude! It's the future!

Now GM is scrapping the entire Volt program and laying off 1200 Volt employees.
The tech geeks liked the "cool buttons" though!! Oooooh, cool buttons and bright colors!!
The Volt is a disaster from every angle, except maybe styling but I don't base my vehicle purchases on whether it's pretty or not.
Great review guys!!

The Chevy Volt costs $.74 per mile to drive.
A compact gas powered car costs on average $.11 per mile (southeast U.S. gas prices)
The compact gas powered car costs $15,000, the Volt costs on average $45,000
Factor in the Obama Bailout, the Volt costs the U.S. taxpayer $200,000 for every Volt sold.
The tech geeks are definitely not financial experts, nor are they big on safety as they failed to mention the little "catching on fire" problem GM is having with their car.
Great review guys

Hey, Leonard Nimoy reviews a car (bet you've heard that before.)
But, battery-operated things rapidly decline in performance over a year. Or 2 years. Won't this have similar battery issues?

@digital0314 wow your a moron
I should suggest trying a European premium model.
Let´s see what you´d rather have, a American car or German engineering.

@234jari234 Myself and Danny both own VWs (2006 Jetta 2.5 for me and 2002 Jetta GLS/2004 Golf R32 for him). We appreciate German engineering, but we also keep an open mind to other vehicles. I have a personal rule that I don't judge a car too much until I have driven it.

This is nothing more than a $40k reincarnation of the 1958 Ford Edsel. GM took advantage of this well meaning, but naive kid. GM's marketing people use a young kid to try and influence this young demographic group into buying and helping them market this overpriced heap.
Bottom line, it's a CHEVY. Overpriced and way, way beyond what your typical Chevy dealer mechanic can handle, EVEN with "training".

@digital0314 No one "took advantage of us", we will review anything which comes our way including the technology or automotive categories. Myself and Danny like constructive criticism, however talking down to us as if you are some sort of "better knowing" individual is ignorant and rude, I could care less how old you are. Try having a more positive outlook on life.
