If you've ever ridden in/driven a saab, you'd know that little light comes on ridiculously early, something like 2200 RPM. so at that speed, it doesn't matter which gear he's in it's gonna be tellin him to shift

@JZWSaab Wow. I have a 1993 Saab 900 Aero and it did the EXACT same thing, the clutch would go to the floor and you'd have to pull it up, but it still wouldn't work. Any idea what my problem might be?

No, clutch stuck and would not release and then it had no clutch, pedal would go to the floor. I have the clutch out of the car now, you should see it, its a waxed piece of blue and both the pp and flywheel are toast. Have a new spec stg 5 full mettalic now :-) IT Holds!
