@oolagah I hear ya! I've frequented that cave 20+ times before (as a summer staffer at Camp Shalom) and that was DEFINITELY not the end. After the big open mud pit area it branches off to both the left and right. You can't go to far before you hit rock on the left, but you can go back AT LEAST 150 or more feet to the right. It gets incredibly tight - to the point where you can't wiggle yourself any further. A very fun cave, nonetheless. As are many of the Maquoketa Caves!

i gotta say thanks. i climbed down the wye alone but didnt go into the side hole because i couldnt hear my lady hollerin for me. you guys definatly saved me the hassel. know of any real deep caves in iowa? im in davenport myself, nothin here, that im aware

Been in the wye cave several times, last time I went it was the worst mud I have ever been in, while in a cave. such fun.
