Longstone Lighthouse on the Farne Islands during fog with the Fog Horn sounding. I took this video during 1st year as a National Trust Warden living on Brownsman Island in the Summer of 2010.
@jane1975 Must have been after may. I visited the Farne Islands last year, and heard it quite well. You can even hear it in my video of the Inner Farne lighthouse.
@jane1975 Yes I can agree on that; I have learnt to love all foghorns; when I first heard Whitby's Mad Bull; I hated it; but then grew on it and now I like it; but that horn does scare me a little!

@wezsmith Do you mind if I use this recording for a video I am making of Longstone?

@WorldWideLighthouses Speaking of that, the diaphone operating where i live is audible right out of town.

@Umpqua1012 Is that fair enough?

@WorldWideLighthouses Ok then, instead of getting rid of all the fog signals, they can at least keep a few fog signals in service.

@WorldWideLighthouses I guess so, but I am more for diaphones.
