This is first of a proposed series entitled "Recreating Historic Music". I find some of the music on old Wurlitzer band organ rolls very interesting. Especially those connected with historic events, such as this one, that celebrated the epic flight in 1927 by Charles Lindberg, when he became the first to fly non-stop between New York and Paris in a small monoplane.
The pipes in my home built Wurlitzer style 105 plus were built to exacting measurements of pipes made by Wurlitzer nearly one hundred years ago. Thus, when I play the old arrangements, the organ is in effect producing historic music for modern day listening. I hope you enjoy this presentation.
