@i8i7 i dont get how knowing your harmonic minor scale makes you a guitar God... ha, i can play harmonic minor shit too. not very hard. i knew how to play in harm. minor before i knew how to play in major!

I'm not seeing alot of positives in this video. He doesn't tell the notes or intervals of the scale, what chords it works well over, or any examples of uses of the scale. I'm not much of a guitar player and have only picked it up again recently. I learned the circle of 5ths before I learned a single scale. Then I learned the major and minor scale fingerings in all positions of the 2 octave box shapes and then the fingerings for 3 octaves. I haven't even got to the harmonic minor scale yet.

He meant in terms of notes.

Example:

The 4th note of an E harmonic minor scale is A. A is, of course, in the 5th position of the fretboard/5th fret of the E string, but it's the 4th note of the scale. I guess that is what he meant, but hey... It's whatever you think in this case.

His 4th position is actually 5th position. His 5th position is actually 7th position. His 6th position is actually 8th position. His 7th position is actually 11th position.

He got 2nd and 3rd right. Position is the fret number your index finger is at when starting the riff.

this was the first scale i learned haha. i can play it as fast as he can now.
