I love this scene it is the best in the best movie ever! It is all laid out there all the bitterness, anger, regret, pain lies all of it saved up for so many years come just pouring out and even the affection and respect is there just a glimmer till Hepburn just nails him with his guard down in that sweet moment of looking back..whammo she just lays it all out and then they start the games again which I personally thought they lived for!

@ladycarnage69 You're might be right. I do wish it were deifying. That sounds more noble.
-
@ericberner Actually I believe it's "I am vilifying you for God's sake, pay attention!', but it is still awesome!
-
It´s a pity the kings of europe descend from John and not Richard.
-
Did I hear that correctly? "I'm deifying you for God's sake, pay attention!" If so, that's the greatest line ever uttered.

@Timmerjax IKR. A CLASS BY HERSELF.

@miownunique And Hepburn's expressions and total inhabitation of character is amazing.

my favorite dialogues in this scene are:
Eleanor: That is the single thing I though of which you've had enough.
Henry: I want a son
Eleanor: We can populate a country town full of country girls that can bore-you- sons, How many is it, help me COUNT the bastards (2)
Eleanor: Im not moved to tears.
Henry: I have no sons
Eleanor: You have too many sons, you don't need more
Henry: ALL MY SONS ARE BASTARDS

thank you for posting this gem!
Of all the lies that one is the most terrible!
I KNOW, that's why I have saved it up for now.
Priceless, the dialogue is just priceless.
