  • Definitely check out the SMU 30 for 30. The allegations against Miami are very bad, no doubt....but SMU had a working payroll funded by many boosters that the administration and coaching staff not only knew about, but were actively operating. They were sanctioned multiple times, but kept paying players anyway. Tx Gov. Bill Clements was even in on it. NCAA really didn't have a choice, unfortunately.

  • @volumecorps The NCAA needs to figure something out because this is nothing but indentured servitude/industrial slavery.

  • Good stuff, spmillz. I'm an OU alum and as a Sooner fan it's easy for me to see where the Cane haters are getting their fuel. That said, I'm also a Dallas resident who saw what the death penalty did to SMU. It didn't just kill football, it destroyed that school, period. It affected good folks' reputations who had nothing to do with football, even to this day.

While heads should definitely roll at Miami, I'm really hoping that it will lead to some much needed changes so this kind of thing is le

  • @volumecorps I really want to view the ESPN 30 for 30 on SMU to get the feel of what really happened down there. I always heard it was horrid but I want to see it for myself.

  • Boosting be castrafik...many peepoo...think he snake and rapist..just want to be poplah...and boostahs won't go away cuz da playahs need da money....

  • @Rjdukerjduke you are correct in your statement that booster are going nowhere because players need money. The NCAA needs to figure this out.

  • less of a temptation, booster and athlete alike. Basketball and baseball players can go pro after high school. Football players have no such system. Let's face it. If college was important to most blue chippers then Harvard and Yale would be winning National Championships. They're stuck in a system that makes millions off their talents, but forbids them from taking a dime. Unless changes are made, this WILL happen again.

  • @dasluv1 I do not disagree with at all. This is why I does these blogs for positive conversations.

  • Remember Shipiro donated over 1/4 million dollars to UM..season ticket owners are treated to a luncheon, autograghs, and pics..why wouldn't he be allowed around program. Shipiro stole close to a billion dollars from thousands of investors and considering UM has the highest ratio of players in the NFL..maybe he saw UM players as future investors..Who's to say some investors were former UM players and when Shipiro was convicted, that's why they turn their backs..This is going to get ugly.

  • @dasluv1 GOOD INFO! And you are correct that time will tell all. Everything done in the dark will come to the light.
