Aqualamp video

Tropical aquarium table lamp. Aqualamp.This aquarium was designed from the idea of combining an aquarium with a table lamp.An idea that started from my mums green bottle garden when i filled it with water and put white cloud minnows in it, and a lamp shade on it, its evolved a wee bit since then.This one runs on an undergravel biological filter system, powered by the Hydor ekip 200 thermopump,which circulates,heats and aerates the system,the only pump i know of that does all these things.(no noisey air pump). The light is a compact flourescent 12v 7w 6400k. Plants are plastic.(less maintinance)
The Aqualamp uses its unique design to provide a huge capacity biological filter to the 40L system.This provides for a stable environment. This attractive little plug and play system is very efficient, low maintenance, and runs completely silent.

the only problem is the tapering sides mean there's less surface area so the water will be less oxygenated.  guess you cud use an air stone though.

The undergravel filter is powered by a thermopump instead of an air pump. the water being returned is jetted through a ventura across the surface like a power filter. More efficient at airation than bubbles,and no noisey air pump. Silence.

awesome tank, a bit overstocked but the little air bubble thing is taking care of the fish so they do not gasp for air
