@Kaboose666 They actually said it sucked before. People complained it felt bad, so they remade it and it turned out better. Sure they cut out some things. But I don't think it hurt the game in the end.

@zodieman1 Yeah, sorry for the pause in response. Yeah actually it would have only been there to be an obstacle, and in the end, it wasn't just the hackers that did it. Valve decided it wasn't a good addition.

@Kaboose666 Actually, im glad most of this stuff was cut. It would have bogged down the Half Life 2 that we have now, and the one we have is better for it.

The thing is, The Hydra (The tenticle that was pictured above) Was a giant scripted entity that would stalk and try to attack the player, the thing is, For a cinematic turn of events, the hydra was fantastic! ... the trouble with it is that the player couldn't really interact or combat the hydra, making it a boring level.

@Hunter54811 And Half life would have been F*CKING AWESOME if that thing didnt leak out... They had change things and cut few things off from the game because of it. So nice job hacker, nice job.

@Kaboose666 You need to understand something, the changes that took place, mostly the storyline changes involving the Air Exchange, etc, where changed long before the Leak, and that the majority of the changes where made for other reasons, AS STATED BY VALVE. The leak did not majorly influence the final product.
Personally, I coded for the leak for a while, and was working on a fix for the maps etc. I find it to be fascinating, and yes, better then the retail in ways (Not playability, though).
