  • How very nice to hear that you like these songs so much after all these years.

By the way my ancesters came from Norway - they were Vikings and landed in Northumberland and stole sheep, silver and servants (!) My real name is Suilven and that is Norwegian too but I changed it to Sylvan because nobody could get it right.

    Kind regards to you

    Sylvan x

  • A beautiful song with an excellent B-side, released in February 1970

  • I googled the song name and found this video. Also, in the 1980s I played guitar in a wedding reception band. One of the songs we played was Delilah. I didn't realise the connection between the two songs until I found your channel!

PS: You can call me noswonky any time. :)

And sorry for taking six months to reply. YTs email notifications are not reliable.

  • amazing :)

  • When I was 7 years old, my mother owned a reel-to-reel tape recorder which she used in her work as a speech therapist. It was very high-tech at the time. I learned how to use it and I recorded some random songs from the radio. There was one song that I played over and over and it became the first song that I ever got 'hooked' on. I've had that song in my head for the past 39 years and, have often thought about it, but I never heard it again - until today! Thank you.

  • Delightful!

  • Part 2:-

I got hold of my first copy already in Spring of 1978, and I love both sides.

As it happens, my second best record of all time is: "High Time you put your tears away" by Barry Mason himself(!)released 14. August 1970.

I also have in my collection "We don't belong" from 1965.

    -Cheers!

    Dear Sylvan Whittingham,

    Sorry for the delay..

I wasn't aware of your pleasant and suprisingly good video, and you look terrific both of you!

In song in question with flip-side called "Oh Baby" was officially released in the Uk Friday 27. Febr. 1970.

I heard the A-side on Radio Lux./BBC 1 in Febr/March 1970, but obviously the D.j's should have played your single much more on the air - it is such a lovely tune slightly over the top!

    Continues..
