A Stephan Grossman composition from the late sixties. This tune represents to some extend the roots of simple blues/ragtime. To my ear this melodi sound almost identical to Arlo Guthrie´s famous Alice´s Restaurant. People sometimes ask me, why I play Alice´s Restaurant in such an akward way? There´s only one answer: I may be an akward guitarplayer, but it´s certainly not Alice´s I play in some cruel interpretation. There´s a great musical heritage out there. Grossman´s is one of them. YaYaRaBl is a happy, repetative easy-to-play tune

  • Very well played. I got that lp in the seveties with that little brown tabbook...

  • Quite coincidential....I bought my LP, tab included, in Belgium in ´79 I think....this is an early "Alice´s Restaurant" or maybe Arlo Guthie just stick to simple ragtime-tradition:)

  • fantastic stuff. Ever given any consideration to doing an instructional video or two?

  • Much obliged, jdmillspa. You know, there are so many really good guitarists on The Tube an´ I´m nothing but a happy amateur compared to those people. Yet it makes me some kind of happy to have such positive respond on the stuff I also like to try out myself. Grossman once was and still is a great inspirational source to blues/ragtime/contemporary - lovers even here in ol´ Denmark. I don´t read music so it would be too difficult to instruct on a video. Thank´s for asking

  • Very cool! I love this style and your great at it!

  • Nice playin :-)

  • no worries, dont read music myself. I'll have to look into this Grossman fella. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

  • That do it! like your other stuff. Remind me my old 70' Grossman's fingerstyle guitar with tabs I learned and that' good!

  • Seems you added some notes to YasYas ragtime blues, but it doesn't matter. As long as it sounds and feels like ragtime it is all good. Great job once again!

  • Fantastic!!!!
