Kerry Garvin in "A Cube and A Button"

In the film "A Cube and A Button", I portray the lead character, Lucy. She was a conservative schoolteacher in the 1960's, who after having her daughter, Hanna, was unable to bear any more children. She raised Hanna rigidly, filled with resentment. In her elder years, Lucy has developed a form of dementia and is unable to communicate while her memories are quickly deteriorating. Her mind is portrayed as a surrealistic "cube" in which she is trapped as a younger version of herself -- disoriented and weak, finding her way through dark hallways, regretfully watching the past fade, and literally chasing Hanna through her mind, seeking redemption for her failures as a mother before all her memories fade into oblivion and it's too late to gain her daughter's forgiveness and tell her how much she loves her.

The reel is from a rough edit of the film which was shot in July - August of 2011 and is currently in post-production before being submitted to film festivals.
