Custom Speaker Isolation Cabinet - Sound Examples

Here are some sound examples of my isolation cabinet. Very raw. No EQ. No mic position changes. I just stuck the mic in the cabinet and pressed record. Thanks for checking it out! : ).

did u get the distortion from turning up the master? or was that all preamp drive? if it was preamp id like to hear it cranked.

hi, sounds realy good, but which speaker was inside?

Vintage 30 was inside.

I based it off of the Demeter cab. Put a door on it. It is all 3/4 inch birch ply, glued and screwed. No specific measurements. Much of it improvised to achieve the goal. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!

That Bogner is a sweet sounding amp. There's some digital clipping going on and the compressor is really breathing but, nit picking aside, it sounds really good. Just would like to hear some examples of the outside level on the iso box.

Yeah I will try to work on that hueseph. When I have a little time. There was no comp, on it so the clipping or breathing must have had something to do with my very archaic methods of video reproduction : ).

How much sound escapes when you have it turned up to a moderate level?

Would you be willing to post the plans? I would love to build one but everyone I speak with, talks about speaker cab construction as if it is dabbling in the dark arts.

that sounds pretty amazing, Great Tone and Great Playing, a combo many guitarists lack.

Just one question, is it quiet enough to not wake up anyone?

sounds like the high pressure inside the box is compresing the mic capsule during the overdriven example. It also make the speaker coil work extra hard because it cannot draw air.. ventillation is crucial.. this sound great on the cleans tho
