"That is the great thing about telepathic communication: no more secrets and lies."

You can always lie to yourself if you're deluded. Not that this device has anything to do with actual mind reading.

Functional MRIs likned to computers are actual mind reading. This is a form of that, so it is actual mind-reading of conscios thought, which use the same nerves we use to speak with. Look it up online. There is a great expose of the technology on CBS' 60-MINUTES news magazine. The one thing we found out from the research is that everyone's brain works pretty much the same, which was not known 3-years ago.

That's a false analogy with MRI that actually makes images of brain activity by using powerful magnets and radio waves.

How is it "false analagy"? Seems to me its exactly analagous. We have ALS patients conversing with it today, its calld BMI, or Brain Machine Interface, and is cutting-edge cybernetics.

The device is not sensing direct brain activity, it's sensing activity around the neck. I'm not denying that it works, I'm just rejecting the assertion that it's mind reading.

It is sensing the electrical signals in the vocal-chord nerves, which are nerve-cells. You use the same nerve cells, and fire the same neurons whn you think to yourself as when you speak aloud. If someone surrepititionsly and unknown to you injected an RF-chip with vocal-chord nerve sensing ability in your neck, anyone with a reciever could read your conscious thoughts. 'Mind-reading' it is.

Distinction noted, thanks.

This is not telepathy. It seems likely that it's "simply" interpreting neck nerve impulses and then looking up the pattern in a database. Similar to speech-to-text software, you would need to train the device for yourself or train yourself for the device.

This technology is the first stepping-stone and basis for "Technological-Telepathy". Soon it will be Biological Telepathy.

Mind reading. Once again science turns myth into reality.
