Here is a little video showing the making of my Elvis portrait. It is made entirely with circles of different sizes and colors on a black background.

I've always admired the King of Rock and Roll. I wanted to make something unusual and give him the aspect of a solid and invincible robot... but not a real "terminator" because he was especially a romantic man with one of the most beautiful voices ever...

The whole portrait took me several days of intense work. There is no trick, I've positioned each circle one by one.

Please also have a look at my other circlist portraits: http://www.flickr.com/photos/benheine/sets/72157623553428960/ (including Lady Gaga, Bob Marley, Johnny Depp... and many others)

  • awesome..

  • amazing

  • What's the procedure to map sizes? I imagine you have pre-made dots, but the placing is the trick. What's the method for mapping them?

  • So cool!! ..you used a reference pic though, right..? O.o

  • oh mein friend thank you for sharing!

you love jazz and blues? ..more, you are the best

    (sorry for my English!!)

    a krus !

  • I love your art style.. these portaits are AMAZING.The only thing that doesn't seem like the best it could be is the robot/red eye. I like the idea, but I think the execution was a little off. From a normal viewing distance it looks more like a red glow on his face where an eye should be. I think if you made the eye look more part of his face then it would be better, but overall this is fucking fantastic. you inspire me to explore unique methods of creating art.. :)

  • ;))))))

  • GREAT ARTWORK ever!! keep it up Ben :))

  • I FOUND HIS ART WORK ON FACE BOOK
