"IS" is definitely good! Even with magic lantern, there will be no way to monitor the audio as you record it. If I'm really going to do something professionally, I'll use a Zoom H4n with an NtG2 Rode recorded separately with a boom pole. Cheapest "pro-audio" bang for the buck!
Nice, nice. The Magic Lantern will fix that gain problem, right? Manual audio I believe. In any case... Looked really good. I guess the IS is a must for handheld.
The clip was shot with no real massive effort. Lens was the 17-85 USM IS Canon, handheld with the internal mic. Granted I was off to the side because the sound level would have been way to loud in the center and possibly overloaded the unit with gain.
