The Wild's Marian Gaborik Had A Breakaway On Hasek From Just Outside The Red Wings' Blue Line.And As Hasek Often Does When He Sees A Shooter On A Breakaway With His Head Down,He Charged Out Of His Net To Try And Knock The Puck Away.Hasek Then Slid Out And Did Knock It Away.But In The Process,He Also Flipped Marian Gaborik Skates Over Head To The Ice!!!

Gaborik is a good player one on one and this probably preserved the shut-out for Dom with 2 mins to go. I would say it was a smart move, penalty or not.

If I was the ref, I would've just given a tripping penalty. That's all. Then it would be over. Like I'm a goalie, and my coaches tell me to challenge on a breakaway. And that's what hasek did.

in case you don't know this is hockey your supposed to like stuff like that and he had his head down so it was his own fault and that also made it something to worth applauding.

Why do you think no player has got nailed by Hasek like that? because the player had his head up, not down like you just seen with Gaborik. If he's such a good player he should have known to keep his head up, but just as ICHORA2 stated, he possibly didn't think that Hasek would have challenged him that way.

..plus the simple fact that, hockey is hockey, there will be pain and hits, take it or get off the ice it's that simple. I mean yes it does seem like a cheap shot, atleast Dominik Hasek went to go see if he was alright, some other goalie could have possibly just ignored it and stayed mad at the simple fact of the tripping call. To me it wasn't a tripping call but if the ref's want to call it that, than so be it.
