A 1930`s whitewashed cottage I painted en plein air on a beautiful Southern California day at Crystal Cove State Beach. A tidal surge unexpectedly rushed through my radio flyer wagon I was seated on. My wagon stood strong, but most of my art supplies and clothes got soaked and filled with sand. Still, I enjoyed this experience, chalk it up to another day as a plein air artist. I made a wonderful painting of an arrested decay beach cottage in the process. How else can an artist fully experience the ocean and transform it to the painting? By feeling and being one with nature.
