John K Nelson III junior year highlights with Mary Carroll high school.
JR: 7/9 on FG's with a long of 48 yds (longest in the area in over 2 yrs). 52 KO's w/ avg of 63.24 yds. 71% into or out of the end zone w/ avg starting position of 20.9 yd line. 55% touch backs. SOPH: 6/6 on FG's with a long of 34 yds.; 35% touch backs w/ 18/51 taking a knee or out of end zone. 60.5 yds avg. on KO's. CAREER: 13/15 on FG's; 83/88 on PAT's; 122 pts scored; Highest scoring kicker in Carroll H.S. history.
A varsity kicker as a freshman, John received 1st Team All-Dist and All-Metro honors as both a soph and a junior, and also received 1st Team All-So. TX & TSWA All-State honors this year for his District Champs team. Working w/ Chris Boniol, John is one of the most talented kicking specialists in Texas. At the 2009 Lone Star Kicking Challenge, John won the KO competition avging 71 yds on 7 KO's w/a 4.05 hang time.
