"They went to A&E for what?!" A series of comedy shorts from NHS North West highlighting incorrect use of A&E. All the examples are based on real-life cases!

As many as one in four people who attend A&E could have been treated by their pharmacist or GP, or did not need any form of medical intervention. Choose Well -- if you have a very minor illness or injury, visit your community pharmacy for advice and treatment.

  • @ merrypippin82 - Excellent stuff, keep us posted on how you get on. If we can be any help, please let me know.

  • @mrathfelder - It can sometimes be confusing trying to find out which NHS service is right for your treatment, but the Choose Well campaign aims to signpost people to clear and consistent information about which NHS service to use and when; and also to promote self care and the use of pharmacy as the first options for people who have minor illnesses and injuries, such as coughs, colds, flu, stomach upsets. You can find out more from your local pharmacy, or you can visit the Choose Well website.

  • @kcLXXXIV - Well, we certainly didn't notice that before! Very observant of you! :-D

  • @ Ms Fleur Ward - Thank you, we really hope these videos help the get the message out there!

  • @ Sam - An interesting idea!!! Not sure about the newspaper bit, but you're quite right, we definitely wouldn't recommend coming into A&E with diarrhoea as you could run the risk of infecting much more vulnerable patients. Your local pharmacy is the best place to go for an illness like this.

To any person with even the smallest amount of brain cells, A&E means Accident & Emergency.. This is not rocket science !! Charge the idiots fines and only then will these selfish idiots learn not to waste the NHS time or money.

  • @NWNHS :) Sorry, Couldn't resist xD

  • @kcLXXXIV AHaa so he does have his fly open, when we were filming 'Anthony' anouced how they didn't fit xD
