Seriously i look up some footage for a game and all i see is *spoiler* and some guy translating the game that was remade on the SNES rest aside this is a solid RPG ATLUS made and had been published by Namco in japan. The game uses the NAMCO106 chip for that extra funk for sound. i don't know what it was but the sound seemed to get jacked up while making the vid.

  • im stunned that namco made this game first

  • @sanzo241 its just the publisher last i checked.

  • This game is so stylish and interesting. I love these weird, horror themed JRPGs. Also, the music: bitchin'. Having just played through Nocturne and Persona 4, I so wish this was translated. Preferably this over the SNES remake for the chiptunes.

  • to me it sounds almost the same

  • ... and look how evolved the Shin Megami Tensei games now in these days.

  • still im surprised they had some hand in this

  • Melodically, yes, but going between videos of Kyuuyaku and this it just seems like the lo-fi sound combined with the expansion chip of the Famicom version gives it a little more personality.

  • This game has the best intro of any NES game ever.

Really amazing to think that something as awesome as Persona came out of this.

  • granted third party chips still worked but lacked the sound output. game blows if you can't hear all the sound. D:
