Sochi 2014 Olympics Protest on Oct 4 in NYC

Countries in Caucasus region as well as Caucasian Diasporas all over the world are deeply concerned over this fact. According to history, the site of the 2014 Olympic Games Sochi is a graveyard of Caucasians eminent ancestors who heroically died in unequal war.
On May 21, 1864 in the battle near Krasnaya Poliana the many year Russian-Caucasian war was over in favor of Tsarism. After occupation of the last village, implementation of occupants plan has begun; the bottom line of this plan was No People No Problems. Villages were wiped, population was brutally slaughtered. We should look at the data of ethnic in the Sochi before and after the genocide:

Shapsughs: were 300 000; now 4 983;
Abdzakhs: were 260 000; now 14 660;
Natukhaizs: were 240 00; now 147;
Bzhedughs: were 60000; now 15 263;
Chemighues: were 80 00; now 3 140;
Zhana: were 1 200; now 0;
Makhoshians: were 8 000; now 1 204;
Hatukians: were 20 000; now 606;
Sadzes: were 63 000; now 0;
Ubikhians: were 15 000; now 0.

Huge number of population was enforced to exile to different countries of the Near East. Totally, up to million peaceful citizens were killed or exiled. We can call this nothing but genocide. According to international law, the genocide is the action purposing a complete or partial liquidation of ethnic, religious, national or racial groups. One million victims are enough to recognize the Circassians genocide?

In the mentioned period besides Circassians, the representatives of almost all Caucasian nations were exiled to Turkey and the Near East. Tens of thousands of Ingushes, Chechens, Abkhazians, Ossetians, Karachais, Balkars, Noghies, Georgians and Daghestanians started on a journey of absolute death. Though, it should be emphasized that the Circassians were damaged in this unjust war most of all.

Besides the genocide, unique nature is annihilated in the region of Sochi and near areas. Inert materials are taken out from Abkhazia and North-West coasts of the Black Sea for construction of Olympic objects, causing a huge damage to the unique ecosystems of the Caucasus region; Rare trees and plants that are recorded in the Red Book by international organizations, are brutally cut down; the facts of poaching have significantly increased. Sochi region faces an ecologic catastrophe.

Current Russian establishment is applying similar tactic against local population as Tsarist Russia did. Despite continues protests and manifestations of local population in front of Krasnodar Region and City of Sochi administration buildings, Federal Government decides to forcefully displace inhabitants of the Imereti Wally villages, destroy houses and ancient cemeteries and build Olympic facilities Ice Hockey Hall, Ice Palace and Indoor Skating Track.

According to all the above-listed facts, we consider that holding Winter Olympic Games on the tombs of millions of Caucasians is immoral and is radically confronting the principles of humanism and democracy. Today for a civilized world, it is inconceivable to hold any sport event in Auschwitz or Srebrenitsa. It is time for all democratic states to express their attitude towards this fact. It is time to stand up against the greatest shady enterprise of the 21-th century. Actions within the frames of double standards and signs of passiveness in the situation with millions of victims may convoke a dangerous precedent. With a chain reaction it can increase violence throughout the world. We call to all Olympic sportsmen no to participation in this shameful Olympiad.
