    Ah, 1950-- The era of the grey flannel suits-- and here they are! Love seeing the jazz accordion-- I started on accordion as a kid, switched to sax as a teenager. Never stopped with music.. Love Christy, but to these ears she's a bit too similar to Anita O'Day in style and the 'catch in the throat' sound.. I prefer Anita, but it's always nice to hear June.. She did have her own special touch.. Interesting that they both sang with Kenton.

    I've been inspired by her all my life. Look at it! her mouth, her neck, her shoulders, her arms, her whole energy...like Janis and Nina and Billie, they're never copping out, never singing a note they're not gonna nail! We are blessed to see these giants of musical intensity, and we stand on the shoulders of these giants...
