You must not know your DOA characters very well. Each costume is given some signature trait of a DOA character.

Ayane - Purple hair and a costume from DOA4

Kasumi - Her bikini and red hair

Lei-Feng - The braids that make loops

Hitomi - Her outfit and the only brown haired girl in the game

Christie - White hair

Zack - He's black, and his fancy suit from DOAX2

Helena - Her Flat bunched up hair using a big bow

I admit Ayane's hair looks good, but I'm a purist and I'm totally annoyed that Kasumi's hair is short! XD

Otherwise it's sweet.
